Construction workers injured in incident with concrete truck

This time of year it is not uncommon for construction projects on roadways to be undertaken throughout the state of North Carolina. As is the case with building construction projects, these construction sites are often dangerous for workers. There are many reasons for this including the way the site is ever-changing throughout the construction project as well as the often massive and heavy equipment used.

Earlier this month a construction accident occurred at a North Carolina work site. The incident involved a concrete pumping truck that was at the location to pour concrete. While it was there something happened however and the truck pitched forward, leaving its backend in the air. The incident left two workers injured.

The nature of the workers' injuries is not clear. One individual was squeezed between two metal pieces while the other individual was pushed off a wall of an unknown height. Fortunately, their injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Even injuries that do not threaten the life of a worker can be painful and hard to recover from. Accordingly, it is sometimes necessary for construction workers who find themselves in this situation to seek workers' compensation benefits. These benefits are designed to assist an injured worker in covering medical and financial matters while they heal.

At this point it is not entirely clear what caused the construction accident to occur. One theory is that the truck became unbalanced when support arms it is equip with to provide stability, sunk into ground that wasn't hard enough to keep the heavy vehicle from sinking.
