North Carolina head-on collision results in two deaths

| Feb 5, 2014 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents

One of the most deadly types of accidents is that of the head-on collision. The amount of force involved in these crashes creates a large possibility for devastating results. Fatalities are common following head-on collisions. In an instant, lives are changed, as families may be suddenly forced to deal with the trauma of losing a loved one in a motor vehicle accident. For some of these families, filing a wrongful death lawsuit may be an appropriate action to take.

A recent motor vehicle accident in North Carolina had devastating results. The fatal wreck occurred near a North Carolina golf course. A man was driving south in a northbound lane and collided with another vehicle head-on. The vehicle caught fire and the driver died as a result of the accident. The driver of the other vehicle also died on the scene. One of the drivers had been identified, while the other driver’s identity was still unknown.

Losing a loved one in a car accident can be utterly overwhelming. As if the trauma and heartbreak were not enough, families often also have to deal with lost wages, vehicle damages, medical expenses and funeral expenses. These costs serve to only further overwhelm some families who are already struggling to deal with the emotional hurt following an accident.

While nothing can be done to erase the emotional pain, there are steps families can take to begin pursuing compensation for the financial challenges. In cases where another driver’s negligent actions caused an accident, filing a wrongful death lawsuit is oftentimes appropriate. A successful wrongful death lawsuit allows victims to obtain compensation for the many financial challenges they have had to face after a fatal car accident. A fair and full settlement is sometimes obtainable with a strong and aggressive legal strategy.
