Dangerous driving is common around Cary schools

With school back in session in the Cary-area, parents and school employees worry about children's safety. Drivers often aren't paying attention to school buses and children who are going to and coming from school. This inattentive and other dangerous driving can lead to children suffering serious injuries.

Cary residents have reported many driving violations that have occurred near schools. These include cars driving around stopped school buses, driving through crossing guards, and speeding in school zones. These drivers are often distracted by their cell phones and not paying attention to what is going on around them. Cary police officers are out watching for these violations. They have conducted speed enforcement operations, provided crossing guards, and promoted bike and pedestrian safety.

When drivers are near schools they need to pay extra attention to what is going on around them. These are areas where an accident can occur, resulting in a child suffering serious injuries or even dying. If a family is facing a tragic situation where a loved one has been seriously injured in a car accident, they may want to speak with a legal professional skilled in personal injury. An attorney can help a family find out what happened to their loved one by gathering evidence and questioning witnesses. They can visit the accident scene, review police reports, and help determine if there was negligence involved. If successful on a personal injury claim, compensation may be available for a victim's medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages.

Cary residents are urged to slow down around schools, crossing guards, and school buses. If a family is affected by a negligent driver, they have legal recourse to hold the negligent party responsible.
