#InMyFeelings challenge a risk for drivers, pedestrians

When Cary residents are out driving through area roads they expect they will arrive at their destination safely. Unfortunately, many are involved in car accidents each year, including those who are negligent drivers. It appears there are always new things that distract drivers on North Carolina roads, but a new serious craze is especially dangerous.

The #InMyFeelings challenge is the new event to hit social media. The dance craze involves a person jumping out of a moving car and dancing to singer Drake's song, In My Feelings. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is warning people about the dangers of partaking in this activity. They are advising that car accidents are the leading cause of death in the U.S. and jumping out of a moving car can be a dangerous stunt.

Distracted driving is a leading cause of car accidents in North Carolina and across the United States. Engaging in risky behavior not only endangers a driver's life, but the lives of all the people they encounter on the road. If a person has been injured in a car accident through no fault of their own they may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury. An attorney can help determine what happened to cause the accident and hold the negligent party responsible for their mistake. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages.

There will always be another social media craze that people will want to be involved in. But, making unsafe choices can result in people getting hurt or even dying. Those who have been negligent should be held accountable so that they don't harm anyone else.
