Parents believe there is a dangerous intersection near Panther Creek High School in Cary. The intersection is off of McCrimmon Parkway at the student entrance to the high school. There have been numerous close calls with the kids being relatively inexperienced drivers and no traffic signal at the intersection. The school has placed a security guard at the intersection, but they are not able to direct traffic.
The principal at the school is now calling on the Cary Police Department and NCDOT to have a meeting to discuss the options available to make the intersection safer. Parents and students are hoping that something happens soon before a person is killed at the intersection.
Schools should be safe places for students, teachers, parents and the community. Schools and traffic officials need to make sure that the roads near schools are safe for everyone.
